About This Spot
Stepping into Restaurant Les Fontaines Blanches feels like finding a warm refuge tucked into the heart of Morzine’s bustling festival promenade. The hum of lively conversation and the gentle clinking of glasses blend with the soft murmur of laughter, creating a welcoming atmosphere that immediately invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Though the space buzzes with energy, there is a comfortable, unhurried rhythm to the evening here-one that mirrors the relaxed yet vibrant mountain town it calls home.
The dining experience unfolds with a sincere sense of local warmth. Service moves with a friendly briskness, attentive without being intrusive, perfectly matching the steady flow of guests who return regularly and new visitors who have heard of the place’s hearty charm. There’s an honest, down-to-earth quality to the interactions, as if sharing a meal here is less about formality and more about genuine connection over well-loved flavors.
On the plate, the menu reflects a heartfelt nod to Savoyard culinary traditions, inviting you into a world of comforting, richly textured dishes that highlight the mountain region’s embrace of cheese, meat, and forest flavors. Whether it’s the slow melt of raclette on fresh potatoes, the soulful depth of a mushroom-laden fondue, or the satisfying, perfectly cooked entrecôte, each element is thoughtfully prepared to evoke a sense of place. Accompanying these, the local charcuterie, hearty salads, and rustic pizzas add layers of familiar homeliness, while desserts like tiramisù and profiteroles add a gentle sweetness to round out the evening.
This isn’t a polished fine-dining temple but rather a spirited, beloved local spot where the mountain air and the Land of Savoy seep into every bite-and where a bustling crowd doesn’t diminish the warmth felt at every table. It’s easy to see why Les Fontaines Blanches draws both those who know the region well and adventurers looking for a slice of genuine alpine comfort.

I had the best beef fillet I’ve had for many years just now at this restaurant. I tried a friend’s mushroom ravioli starter and seriously considered ordering it for dessert. The service was brisk but friendly and the queue is often out of the door as reservations are not taken. Don’t believe the negative reviews and give this place a go. It’s not the ritz, it’s in the mountains and it does great food.
Ate out on out last night in Avoriaz. Far better than other nearby restaurants and I don't understand the 3.7 rating, it should be higher. The staff were attentive and oh man the food was SO good. I had a great calzone and my whole party of 7 were delighted. The paris-brest is up there in my best desserts I've ever had and might even rival the strawberry tiramisu I had on the Orient Express
The worrying thing about end of season Avoriaz is that very few of the restaurants are open. However fear not because Les Fontaines Blanches is probably one of the best places to eat in the Haut Savoie. Great staff who are warm and welcoming. It is easy to catch their eye when you need something. The quality of the food is sublime. Our party had: Entrecote aux morelles, (ribeye in mushroom sauce) which was tender and tasty. Tartiflette had a thick cheese and perfect crust, loaded with bacon. Escalope Savoyarde was tender chicken with a layer of ham and cream cheese in a cheese sauce, so delicious. Somebody in the kitchen cares about their customers experience. Yes its a bit more expensive, but so worth it.
We have been here twice in the past two days, the staff are super friendly, the food has been amazing each visit, even when it has been really busy, the service and the food has been the best quality. Highly recommend this place!
We just finished a fabulous meal at Les Fontaines. The evening started with a lengthy wait at the door just because the place is so popular. This can't be helped as all of the restaurants are busy from 6 to 9. The gentleman that greeted us at the door was professional, polite, and friendly. A great start to the evening. Our server took us to the table and was friendly and seemed happy despite how busy everyone was. This was the same for all the staff we saw during the night. It makes a huge difference when staff are happy at work. The menu selection is hugely varied and the choices available made it difficult to decide. All the dishes served were top quality and the family lived them. We fully intend to go back tomorrow just because there is so much to choose from. As we left the man who greeted us coming in had a few friendly words to say. This makes all the difference on a night out. Altogether a great experience. Forgive the look of the steak in the pictures. I like a very well done steak and it was my choice to cremate it.
